All You Need To Know About Treating Dizzy Spells With Home Remedies

At one point or another in your life, you might have experienced dizziness. Dizziness causes unsteadiness, loss of balance, or a feeling of lightheadedness, sometimes even fainting. Vertigo is when dizziness is accompanied by a feeling of spinning. This happens particularly when looking down from a great height, or a disease affected the inner ear or the vestibular nerve.

Dizziness itself isn’t a disease, but a symptom of underlying conditions like heart disease, anemia, hypoglycemia, low blood pressure, ear infections, heat stroke, anxiety disorders, head injuries, migraines, allergies, tinnitus, neurological conditions, and/or disorders related to vision. Some of the other causes may include dehydration, hormonal changes in the body, a side effect of certain medications, overdoing during workouts, and motion sickness.

Symptoms of dizziness

Dizziness is often accompanied by symptoms including:

  • Vision changes
  • Slow/erratic pulse
  • Blind spots
  • Headaches
  • Warped sense of motion

Nausea, vomiting, paleness, chest aches, weakness, ringing in the ears, or loss of consciousness are common when a dizzy spell hits. If you’re experiencing dizziness only recently, without any history of it, you could try some natural home remedies for dizziness to address the problem. However, if you’re not finding relief from them, and the symptoms persist, which seem to aggravate as the days pass, then it’s time to consult a physician to get a proper diagnosis and resultant treatment.

2. Almonds and pumpkin seeds

Remedy

Let it soak overnight; the following morning, grind them all to make a smooth paste. Add some cloves to this paste, and boil the same with some milk. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar to this boiling mixture. Drink this regularly for a few days to see your dizzy spells subside.

3. Breathing deeply

Yes, breathing in deeply, while focusing your attention on your breaths, is one of the best ways to deal with dizziness. Not only will it pump an adequate amount of oxygen to the brain and the other parts of the body, it will help relax your nervous system, thereby reducing your dizziness.

Remedy

  • Sit or lie back on a firm yet soft surface, in a comfortable position. Now, place the palm of one hand on your abdomen, while with the other, place the thumb against one nostril, closing your mouth. Take deep breaths in through the other open nostril, and fill your lungs with air. Hold your breath, closing both nostrils and pursing your lips. Exhale slowly after a couple of seconds. Repeat this at least 10 times, followed by sitting where you are quietly, for about 5 minutes. Breathe normally, and the dizziness would have subsided.
