When there’s a dating app/site available for every fetish, interest, allergy, and even dogs, why not one that helps women make friends? Actually, there is such an app, and it’s called Hey! VINA. It is designed to help you find your new adult best friend. Who knows, you can even create your own #GirlSquad to rival Taylor Swift’s!
As you grow older, sometimes you also tend to grow apart from your best friend who saw you through your childhood and adolescence. That camaraderie, that sense of acceptance, just isn’t there, as much as you wish for it. High school and college are tricky parts of your life, where it’s difficult to form friendships that last through your life. And when you move to a new city in search of better opportunities and jobs, it’s even harder to make new friends. The process of making new adult friends is awkward to say the least.

That’s where Hey! VINA app comes in.
Hey! VINA app works similar to Tinder, in that it connects your profile to your Facebook profile, followed by a six-question quiz where the app asks you your interests, personality traits, and the stage of life you’re in. Users can also fill out what exactly they’re looking for in their new bestie, and you’re set to start swiping left and right to find your new BFF.

The app was created by Olivia June Poole and Jen Aprahamian, and their company, VINA, comes up with products that support female friendships. Hey! VINA is an extension of that ethos.

Talking to Daily Dot about the inspiration behind creating Hey! VINA app, Aprahamian said,
“As an adult, you don’t have people you can quickly warm to like you do as a kid.”
CEO Poole said,
“We built this app to solve for our own needs as women who have moved, traveled, changed careers, and shifted lifestyles and life stages. Through our adult lives we go a lot of places that our existing friendships don’t always support and it becomes time to expand our circles.”
Hey! VINA officially launched this week, but it’s still in beta stage. Currently, it’s available in two cities, San Francisco and New York, with new cities being added gradually. Once it adds your city into the mix, it’s only a matter of time you find your new BFF through the app.
