1. Christmas tree place cards

For Christmas tree place cards, you first have to cut a branch. We used one from a Black Walnut tree. Then drill a hole using a high-speed rotary drill machine. You can also use a regular drill. Next, put the green sprigs into the hole. We suggest you use a dwarf Alberta spruce. Then, place a cut-out paper name tag on top of the branch. You can even tie it using colorful twine. Last, place a star on the top! :)

2. Shooting stars for outdoor lighting

Now isn’t this among the best DIY Christmas decorations?!

All you need to do is spray paint a star-shaped wire. Then, plug in the rope lights. Using a small zip tie, secure the end to a point on the exterior of the star. Don’t forget to trim these tie ends.

Next, drill five holes into the pine strips. Insert binder rings in each hole. Next, attach two exterior points side-by-side to the tree trunk. Attach the last binder ring to the innermost point of the star. Attach the strip to the second tree, slamming it into the trunk using large zip ties.

To create the comet tails, you can use fairy lights. Just attach them to the stars with zip ties. Now light up! :)

3. Glittered deer table decorations

For these glittery deer DIY Christmas decorations, use a paintbrush and coat the head, body, and legs of the toy deer with white glue. You can hold it by one of its legs while painting the other three. Then dip it in a bowl of glitter and shake off the excess back into the bowl. Now let it dry. Repeat the whole process with the leg that you were holding. If there are any bare spots, dab them with glue and again spoon on more glitter! J

4. Ribbon candy decoration

For ribbon candy DIY Christmas decorations, first spray-paint beads and set them aside to dry. Cut a sheet of flashing, which is weatherproofing material, (7-inch-long section) using a pair of scissors. Drill a hole into each of the markings on the sheet. Screw a nut halfway on one end of the rod. Now screw a bolt into the nut. It will be used for hanging. Now, slide the wooden bead into the rod and slide the rod into the first hole in the flashing sheet. Keep adding a bead in between. After adding the final bead, screw the nut into the end of the rod, followed by the eye bolt. Hang the decoration using a para-cord.

5. Lit pine cone arrangement

Snip scales from pine cones and find a string of floral lights (plastic, of course!), and take off the flower part. Glue the scales behind the petals and make two rings of at least five each. For every third light, repeat the process. Clasp the flowers back into the floral lights. Now, wrap the floral wires together into small bundles of 3 or 4 each. Gather all the bundles together and wrap them with electrical black tape so that it is secured. Leave the end of the cord loose, because that has to be attached to the extension cord. Place it in a cylindrical vase. Make sure that the vase is opaque so that the cords remain hidden.

6. Paper angels

Draw an angel shape on a paper plate with a fluted edge. Cut it out using a utility knife. If you look at the picture carefully, you will find that the two cuts for the angel’s wings are different. While one is inside out, the other is made from the outside in. Next, decorate the plate with some hole punches. With the angel’s face towards you, make her skirt into a circle. Curl some paper to create a name card and place it in her hands, dabbing it with a glue stick.

7. Snow lanterns

One of the most gorgeous DIY Christmas decorations is also one of the easiest! Here’s how to go about it:

Pack some snow into pans. Tap the bottom of each pan to release the snow. In case the snow doesn’t drop in one piece, fill the pan again and place it outside for half an hour so that it hardens. Then release.

Next, trim a candle wick so that the flame is small. Secure the candle on the step using the wax. Stack three forms of snow over the candle. Spritz the pillar using water so that the whole thing freezes. Light the candle when your guests are about to arrive!

Mistletoe is a must on a list of the best DIY Christmas decorations!

For this piece, cut a 16-inch piece from a 24-gauge wire using wire cutters. Then bend it in half. Fold a 36-inch ribbon into three loops after cutting it. Pinch the three loops together in the middle and fix them with a wire. This wire has to be twisted slightly so that it forms a single stem. Trim each bow tail into a V shape. Next, soak a floral foam ball in some water and cut the mistletoe into three-inch sections. These are called tips. Insert the wire through the floral ball and then pull it out from the other side. Then fold them over the end. Lastly, string silver or light blue beads into gauge wires and stick them into the ball.

9. Carpet stockings

Enlarge the paper stocking pattern of your choice using a photocopier. Next, pin the pattern onto two layers of fabric with the wrong sides facing each other. Cut out the stocking and trim the seams. Now turn them right side out. Press them using a steam iron. Sew the remaining open edges and leave the stocking open at the top. Cut out a piece of carpet, fold it into half, and pin it to the inside front of your stocking (towards the heel). Hand-stitch and create the loop using beautiful ribbons. :)

10. Lattice fence and evergreen bough window boxes

For the fence, cut pieces of floral foam (make sure it is dry). Fit it snugly in your window frame. Insert twigs into the box and connect the corners on top with some more branches. This will secure the floral wire, forming a rectangular frame. Now, form a crisscross with twigs. Use a wire to secure these twigs. Once they are wired, trim them down to the height that you want. Once the fence is done, complete the DIY task by weaving one wide red ribbon through your framework. Tie the ribbon into a bow.

11. Santa hat cones

All you need is three glass bottles, preferably wine bottles. You can either paint them red, white, and brown for the Santa, snowman, and the reindeer, respectively, or fill the transparent bottles with colored liquid. For the snowman, add embellishments like black buttons, a red scarf (use a ribbon), and a hat. For Santa, you only need to create a belt. For the reindeer, you can paint two branches for its antlers and place it in the mouth of the bottle. Also use a black collar with bells to show that it is your pet! :)

‘To be or not to be’ if that’s the question, I would always want to be who I am – a lover, who binges on ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ every Christmas; that is, if she decides not to wallow in bed with ‘Wuthering Heights’! The other thing that I absolutely love is weddings! Well, who doesn’t like being in a room full of love stories, eh?!
