  1. Hair breakage

Most of us lose a few strands while taking a shower or brushing our hair. While that is normal, losing strands at the drop of a hat is not a healthy sign. It means the frizz in your hair has caused it to become brittle. That is what makes the hair prone to breakage.

If you have been noticing this in your hair, then you need to immediately stop using styling tools. Also, avoid treating your hair with color.

  1. Split ends

The next effect of frizzy hair is split ends. Women with longer hair are more susceptible to this. When the tips of your hair are stripped of their cuticles which protect them, the hair splits into more than one end. When the hair tip is damaged, your hair stops growing. Also, it prevents the hair shafts from getting any of the nutrients, which further worsens the situation of the frizz. A very simple, but effective way of dealing with this menace: Trim your hair tips once every month.

  1. Dandruff and flaking

Winter is here, and I am sure this nuisance has already started creating problems for you. Dandruff is the flaking of scalp skin, which happens when your scalp is depleted of its natural oils and moisture. When your hair is frizzy, you are sure to battle dandruff. The dandruff situation is aggravated by the using chemical products. If you don’t wash your hair regularly, then the germ and dirt will build up and cause more flaking, and thus result in dandruff. Using store bought shampoos and conditioners can worsen the natural hair oils and make your hair frizzier, therefore, use the natural conditioners that we will be sharing with you today.

  1. Lack-luster hair

When your hair is stripped of its moisture, when it is flaky and full of dandruff, how can you expect it to look lustrous and shiny? Frizzy hair looks dull and lifeless, and styling it makes it look worse. The only solution: Repair it from within.

In the next section, we will give you the best homemade conditioner for frizzy hair that work better than store bought chemical formulas.

If you have curly hair, then the situation is worse for you. Curly hair gets frizzy easily; things get worse when the humidity in the air is high. Curly hair is also vulnerable to split ends, hair breakage, and subsequent thinning. Usually people think brushing hard is the answer to taming curly hair, but nothing could be further from the truth. If you brush a lot, and use the wrong brush, then the breakage and thinning gets worse. To lower frizz in curly hair, therefore, you have to focus on conditioning it better. And for that, you need to prepare the conditioners at home using safe natural ingredients.

First on our list is this avocado and peppermint oil conditioner. According to the Mielle blog,

“The reparative properties of Vitamin E are responsible for the healing benefits of avocado which is proven to be super beneficial for overall hair and scalp health.

As you may know, healthy hair grows from a healthy scalp. Damage to the scalp can slow down or prevent hair growth. Vitamin E can repair this damage to promote scalp health which ultimately leads to healthy hair growth. Its antioxidant properties can help keep hair follicles unclogged to allow nutrients in and stimulate growth.”

For the treatment, mash a ripe avocado and add 4 to 5 drops of essential peppermint oil. Mix the ingredients until the consistency is smooth. Apply the conditioner on your hair and leave it on for fifteen minutes, and then wash your hair with your lukewarm water.

  1. Olive oil and banana conditioner

According to Huffpost,

“Oils in general have one major demonstrable effect on hair—slowing the loss of moisture. Scientists have observed that hair treated with oil eventually slowed both processes of absorption and diffusion of water from hair fibers. Essentially, this means that, although oil-treated hair can’t necessarily gain moisture, it’s able to retain whatever moisture is already existing extraordinarily well.

One of the rationales is the presence of vitamin E, which is found in abundance in olive oil. Vitamin E is an antioxidant and lipid protector with widely-touted abilities to keep skin moist and protect it from damage by free radicals. Those same properties work their magic when olive oil is applied to hair, also keeping strands moisturized and healthy.”

For the remedy, you need to mix a tablespoon of olive oil and a ripe banana. Blend them both into a purée. Now apply the paste on your scalp and hair shafts. Leave the mask on for about 30-odd minutes and then wash with lukewarm water.

  1. Honey and pumpkin conditioner

Next up we have this honey and pumpkin conditioner. According to Researchpedia,

“Honey serves as an excellent hair conditioner : One of the interesting benefits of honey for hair is it serves as a conditioner to the hair. Mix honey and olive oil in the ratio of 1:2 and apply the mixture to hair thirty minutes before washing the hair. Adjust the quantity of the olive oil in the mixture depending on whether you have oily hair or dry hair. It makes the hair shiny and lustrous : Increased exposure to sun makes the hair dry and lusterless. This lost shine can be brought back with honey. Mix about 2 tablespoons of honey to two cups of warm water and spray the solution on the hair.”

Pumpkins contain vitamin A, vitamin C, minerals like potassium, zinc, and beta-carotene, all of which benefit frizzy hair like no other ingredient. For the conditioner, mix two tablespoons of honey with a cup of pureed pumpkin. Make sure the mix has a smooth consistency. Now apply the mask on your hair and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Now wash your hair with lukewarm water.

By the way, this can be used on the face to; it works as an amazing moisturizer.

  1. Jojoba Oil and coconut oil conditioner

The last homemade conditioner on our list today is made of jojoba oil and coconut oil.

According to Healthline,

“Jojoba oil has an oily composition, so it can be used as a moisturizer. It can also be added to hair conditioners to give you added protection against dryness, breakage, and split ends.

The oil can also moisturize the scalp and may be a dandruff remedy.

Jojoba is rich in vitamins and minerals that nourish hair, including vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin E, copper, and zinc.

Because it strengthens hair, it is also thought that jojoba oil can prevent hair loss and promote hair thickness. The idea behind this is that the oil moisturizes hair follicles, which prevents dryness that leads to hair loss.”

For the conditioner, you need to mix the oils and apply them on your scalp and your hair roots. Leave it on through the night. To prevent breakage of hair, tie it into a braid and cover your head with a shower cap. Shampoo your hair with a mild formula next morning.

Repeat the treatment three times every week for soft, strong and long hair.

The other thing that I absolutely love is weddings! Well, who doesn’t like being in a room full of love stories, eh?!
