Devoted husband proposes again to wife of 38 years. Here’s why he had to do it

Marriages aren’t for everybody. It requires a lot of effort and time to nurture a marriage. But sometimes it pays off, and sometimes it doesn’t. However, there is no one person to be blamed for the breakdown of a marriage. As they say, it takes two to tango. And on the one hand, there are couples who are opting for non-divorce divorce, calling it ‘conscious uncoupling,’ and on the other, there are couples like the Butlers, who, even after 38 years of marriage, are still going strong.

Here’s the scoop on the Butlers.

Over 15 years ago, Lacey Butler’s mother lost her wedding ring. The whole family turned the house upside down, in an effort to find that ring, all to no avail. Thinking that she had lost it on a job site or misplaced it somewhere else, Lacey’s mother lost all hope of ever finding it. But guess what, Lacey’s dad found it this past October 26th in a small wooden box. So, instead of just handing it to his wife, father and daughter devised a plan to surprise her mother. And the result is here:

The sweet footage which was uploaded by Lacey onto YouTube has since garnered more than a hundred thousand views.

Lacey explained, “About 15 years ago my mom lost a very important piece of jewelry, her wedding ring. We searched the house high and low for months, and finally came to the conclusion that it was lost on a job site, or stolen.

“But on October 26th we learned the truth, it had been stashed away in a small wooden box my dad just found.

“We knew reuniting them was going to be emotional enough but dad and I had to add a twist. See here you go my dad proposing to my mom again after 38 years of marriage with my mom and her apron, in the garage! Maybe she was a little dramatic, but hey, it’s her missing wedding ring!”

And what do you know, she said ‘Yes.’ Again! To top it off, the ring still fit Lacey’s mother.

Congratulations, you guys! We wish you many more happy years ahead!
