Best natural face toner for oily skin

People with oily skin have overactive sebaceous glands, and if your skin pores are large, this oil secreted by the glands find their way on the skin easily. This causes the bleeding of makeup and that’s a horror story, isn’t it? The best face toner for oily skin will reduce the size of your pores, and make sure the sebum does not ruin your makeup.

In addition to this, a good toner will also help unclog your skin pores by getting rid of the dirt and the grease. This, in turn, will make your skin less susceptible to acne.

Dehydrated and aggravated skin usually produces more sebum to compensate for this. When you apply a toner that is formulated for your skin type, you can reduce the amount of sebum produced. For this, you need to pay attention to the ingredients used to create the formula.

If you use very harsh cleansers on your face, then your toner can help restore your skin’s pH level quickly.

Since the toner balances the acid-base level of your skin, it also acts as a strong natural barrier that protects your skin against bacteria and other harmful minerals. If not safeguarded against, then these harmful agents can penetrate your skin and wreak havoc on it.

The toner that we will be preparing contains green tea, which, due to its anti-inflammatory properties, reduces the acne, blemishes, and spots. The apple cider vinegar in the formula helps reduce the secretion of oil by the sebaceous glands. It also helps balance the pH level of the skin.

We will also be adding some lavender oil to the solution. The goodness of this essential oil will help you prevent breakouts, and treat them as well. Since lavender oil is not only anti-inflammatory but also antibacterial, it will prevent any kind of facial infection from spreading.

For the face toner, you need:

Steeped green tea – a quarter of a cup

Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar – a quarter of a cup

Tea tree oil (optional) – 2 to 3 drops

Lavender oil (optional) – 3 drops

To prepare the toner for your oily skin, you need to steep a bag of green tea in a cup of boiled water. Now pour this tea into a jar. Add a quarter of a cup of apple cider vinegar to this tea, and mix the two ingredients well. Add two to three drops of the tea tree oil. If you don’t like tea tree oil, then you can use lavender oil.

Best natural face toner for normal skin

For people with normal skin type (the skin is neither dry nor oily), the toner needs to fulfil a set of different requirements. This formula should not make your skin too dry or too oily, but should moisturize and hydrate it.

In the toner that we will be preparing, cucumber is a chief ingredient. It has a cooling effect on the skin, and hydrates the skin while taking care of any inflammations or irritations. It also balances between the oiliness and the dryness, and keeps your skin normal.

The aloe vera in the toner will keep your skin from turning too greasy. It will, however, keep your skin hydrated. It, being antibacterial in nature, prevents all types of breakouts and acne. It also hastens the cell regeneration process, thus delaying, and reversing, in some cases, the early signs of ageing.

We will also be using rose essential oil for this toner, which is known to rejuvenate the skin. It possesses astringent qualities that are known to cure skin that are susceptible to acne. It also treats inflammations and the redness and spots caused by inflammations.

The peppermint essential oil, again, will help prevent acne by regulating the production of sebum by oil-producing glands. It will refresh your skin and also your mind.

For the face toner, you need:

  • Cucumber, medium-sized – 1
  • Gel from 1 aloe vera leaf
  • Essential rose oil or peppermint oil – 5 drops
