Canadian Groom Serenades His Indian Bride With ‘Tum Hi Ho’

“Love knows no reason, no boundaries, no distance. It has a sole intention of bringing people together to a time called forever.” – Anonymous

A wedding is the start of a journey of a couple towards a happy future full of love, togetherness, and happiness. A wedding is also one of the most memorable days of a person’s life, and when one is fortunate to have a groom like Frank Gregoire, then you’re set for life, my friend.

What did he do that was so special, you ask? Well, he just spent six weeks learning the lyrics and piano chords for the popular Bollywood love ballad ‘Tum Hi Ho,’ sung in the soulful voice of Arijit Singh, so that he could serenade his newlywed wife on their wedding day!

Simran, the newlywed bride was totally caught off guard by her newlywed husband’s gesture, and she was so overcome with emotion that she burst into tears when Frank began singing.

Frank and Simran got married on June 27 in Baltimore, Maryland, and Frank’s love for Simran made him go to such great lengths to surprise his beautiful Indian bride with this heartwarming gesture.

The bride, who was dressed in white, had no idea what Frank had in store for her as he moved towards the piano and started playing the famous tune of the popular Bollywood number. In the video, you can see Simran, who’s sitting under the spotlight, while tears roll down her cheeks from the very first line of the love ballad.

Frank performed the song beautifully and made his lady love fall for him all over again, even as friends, relatives, and guests were left spellbound as they felt the deep love between the beautiful couple and realized the true power of love. There were around 130 guests during Frank’s performance, and there was nary a dry eye in the whole reception venue.

Originally, Gregoire had planned to write or read a poem for his wife, but when he approached Simran’s mom, she recommended the hit song Tum hi ho, to express his love in the most perfect way, with her favorite song.

The Canadian couple — Simran Malhotra, 27, from Toronto, and Frank Gregoire, 36, from Sherbrooke, Quebec, met at work in 2012 in Baltimore, where they both reside now. Malhotra was beginning her medical residency, while Gregoire was starting a job as a critical care physician when they first met.

During the 11-minute long video uploaded by AVP Studios, Gregoire’s uncle Marc also joins his nephew and his bride to recite “WaWaWaWa” — a silly line his family came up with during one Christmas in Montreal.
