Along with these, you also have to take care of your diet and exercise if you want the glow to be there long-term. We have shared some extra tips at the end of the post.

10 Home Remedies for Instant Glow

1. Oats

Not many people know this, but oats are a natural scrub. When you rub them into your skin, they lend it an instant shine and suppleness that would give cosmetic scrubs a run for their money.

To try this home remedy, take half a cup of washed oats. To this cup, add some lukewarm water. Let the oats sit for about 5 – 6 minutes. This is done to ensure that the oats paste is thick enough. Now, apply the paste onto your face. Slowly and gently rub it into your skin. You need to massage your face for about 15 minutes. Massage in circular motion. Around the nose, rub a little harder. Also on the nose, the massage should be a little rigorous in order to get rid of the blackheads.

Lastly, rinse out with cold water, and tada! You have an instant glow!

2. Honey and Lemon

In a small cup, mix a tablespoon of lime juice and two teaspoons of natural honey. Blend well, making sure the honey has dissolved fully.

Now wash your face with water and dab with a towel, leaving the face moist. Apply the honey and lemon mix, and let it be for about 20 minutes. Rinse out with cold water.

Since natural honey and lemon are both bleachers, applying their mixture will give your skin an instant glow and radiance.

3. Rice flour

In the mixer, grind some rice flour. Make sure you have powdered it smooth. Now add some milk and mix to form a smooth but thick paste. Apply this on your wet face. Massage well so that your skin gets scrubbed properly and also so that the blood is circulated through your entire face, correctly. The paste will help get rid of dead skin cells, automatically making your skin look fresh and glowing.

4. Sandalwood Powder

In a cup take four teaspoons of sandalwood powder. Add few drops of rosewater, and form a paste. Apply the paste, gently rubbing it onto your skin. Leave the paste on for about 15 minutes. After that, wash out with cold water. Pat dry with a clean soft towel. DO NOT RUB.

Apply some skin moisturizer, and you are good to go!

5. Eggs & Honey

Take a couple of eggs. Separate the whites. Next, to the egg whites add two teaspoons of honey and blend. Apply the mix on your face. Let it remain as a mask for 15 – 20 minutes, after which you should wash it off with cold water. You will see the difference almost immediately.

Honey smooths our skin and as a result brightens it up. Egg whites, on the other hand, tighten the pores making the skin look younger.

6. Yogurt & Honey

In a small cup, take 5 teaspoons of yogurt. To this, add two teaspoons of honey. Now blend them well, forming a paste. Apply the paste while rubbing it on your skin. Let the mask remain for 15-odd minutes, after which you should wash it off with cold water.

While yogurt is a natural moisturizer for the skin, natural honey cleanses the skin and works as a great toner.

This face pack should be used once daily.

Alternatively, you can add 2 teaspoons of honey to 5 teaspoons of raw milk. To the mix, add 2 teaspoons of gram flour. Form a paste and rub it onto your face. This too gives the face an instant glow.

7. Tea Scrub

In a bowl take a cup of water and bring it to boil. Now add 2 teaspoons of tea leaves to this water. As soon as the leaves start coloring the water, remove it from fire and let it cool to room temperature. Now add 2 teaspoons of brown sugar to the tea water. Also add 2 teaspoons of milk cream to this. Mix the ingredients to form a paste. Now apply the paste on your skin and massage slowly and gently. Leave the mask on for about 10 to 12 minutes, post which you should rinse your face with cold water.

8. Milk

In a cup, take 6 teaspoons of milk. To the milk add a couple of drops of lemon. Apply the mix onto your face and massage well. Also apply the paste on your neck area, because that goes uncared for though it is noticed as much as your face.

After massaging for about 5 minutes, leave the pack on for another 20 minutes. Now rinse off with cold water. If you want, then you can also add some naturally grounded turmeric powder to the mix.

Alternatively, you can add some strands of saffron to 5 teaspoons of milk cream. Leave the strands submerged in the cream through the night. Next morning, apply the pack on your face and neck. Saffron or ‘kesar’ gives the skin a natural glow while milk acts as a natural bleach.

9. Potato

This one is easy and almost entirely effortless, but it is one of the best ways to make your face look instantly bright, healthy and younger. Take an unpeeled potato. Slice it. With two slices, rub your skin in gentle, circular motion. This should be done for just 5 minutes. And voila! Your skin looks as good as new!

Potato slices work because potato is a natural bleach that can revivify the skin in a matter of seconds.

10. Red clay

Red cay contains iron oxide which absorbs harmful impurities and dirt that are usually clogged into our pores. These impurities make our skin look dull, and therefore, when they are removed, the skin automatically starts glowing.

Natural hone and turmeric, as I said early on in this post, lend a natural radiance to the skin owing to their antioxidant ability. The peel of an orange can work as a great exfoliant and also as an amazing bleaching agent.

For the red clay pack, all you require is 2 teaspoons of red clay powder, that you can purchase for your nearest beauty store. You will also need half a teaspoon of grounded orange peel and a pinch of naturally crushed and smoothened turmeric. And finally half a teaspoon of natural honey and a couple of drops of natural rosewater.

Blend in all the ingredients and form a consistent paste. Apply the paste on your face and neck area. Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes. After that wash off the mask with lukewarm water. Then rinse with cold water for a supple skin.

You must apply this pack, every two times a week for best results.
