5 Fashion Trends That Are In For 2018 And 4 That Are Out

In our mission to find our favorite fashion trends for 2018, we also realized that there were a few that maybe should be left behind in 2017. Since we’ve started dumping things that we’re so fudging tired of, like girl-on-girl hate, sexism and casual racism, we’ve decided to add these following boring fashion trends to the pile.

1. Chokers

Yes, we know chokers are the coolest, most hip thing to happen since the beginning of time. But, I mean seriously, c’mon. THEY’RE BORING AND WE ARE SO TIRED OF THEM UGH. Chokers have been awesome, but maybe it’s time we moved on to something more…grown up. Let’s dump the chokers in 2017 and instead opt for more badass, warrior-inspired jewelry in 2018.

Here are some badass pieces of jewelry for you to choose from, instead of the choker (which, let’s be honest, has been done to death).

2. Unicorn/holo everything

Unicorns are awesome. People who love unicorns are awesome. People who drink unicorn blood live, but a half life, a cursed one.

But let’s just all agree that unicorn-themed everything is now just soo…passé. We’ve had unicorn drinks, desserts, food, and every possible item of clothing and makeup. 2017 is almost over, and I say we need a unicorn/holo intervention. Let’s ditch the unicorn for something more fun but mature. You can switch from unicorn-camp to something flirty and sexy like glitter, sequins or metals. Or, if you want something more fun, then go for something chrome instead! Here are a few awesome unicorn alternatives to soothe your broken holo heart.

3. Silly/Offensive Quotes and Graphics on Clothing

uhh??

wut!?

Ever stepped into Forever21 or H&M and spotted a cute top only to find a senseless and unnecessary quote or graphic print on it? Yeah, me too. While silly quotes are still tolerable, there are just so many graphic t-shirts and hats that send out hateful, regressive and just downright offensive messages. You know the kind I’m talking about. So, it’s safe to say that that’s something we’d very much like to be left behind in 2017. Instead, why not opt for fun, bright prints and patterns, which will make you look super cute, all while NOT offending people.

4. High-low Hems

You know all those tops and dresses EVERYONE was wearing throughout 2017, which had a super high hem in the front and a low hem at the back? Yeah, the kind that looked like the clothes version of a mullet? Yeah, that’s gotta go. Nothing that looks like a mullet should be considered fashion, I mean C’MON. Instead, this coming year, opt for asymmetrical hems, over-sized clothing and frayed hem denims. Here are a few faves.
