10 Fashion Trends From The 90s Which Are Making A Major Comeback

8. Mini-skirts

You read that correctly, mini-skirts are back. We’ve got denim skirts, metallic leather skirts (which is more early 2000’s than the 90’s), the pleated plaid skirts and shimmering tasselled skirts. You can pair your skirts with oversized t-shirts for a relaxed casual-chic vibe. You can pair them with long shirts or blouses (for a little peek-a-boo action) and badass heels for a fashion-week ready look.

You can even pair your mini skirt with a long top and look like a total boss babe. Miniskirts can be worn with high heels, sneakers, sandals and even thigh-high boots, depending on how badass you’re feeling that day. You can even customize your skirts to make them truly one of a kind, with embroidered hems, tassels, sequins and even badges! Here are some of our top mini-skirt moments of the season.

9. Bomber Jackets

Bomber jackets were such an important part of 90’s fashion. They fit in perfectly with the whole “oversized” aesthetic of that period. What’s not to love about puffy sleeved jackets that make you feel warm and cozy, while simultaneously making you look hella stylish? Bomber jackets have been upgraded from classic polyester bodies to denim, mesh and even satin bases!

Some of the current season favourites are ones in muted shades like millennial pink, dusty rose, olive green, military green, black and grey. Some fashionistas have of course embraced this trend in their unique way by opting for bright colours instead. Here are some of our favourite bomber jackets that have taken the world by storm.

10. Backpacks and fanny-packs

After being ignored for almost two decades, backpacks have returned to the spotlight. Ditch your tiny little sling bags that carry absolutely nothing and your giant hold-all totes that give you severe shoulder pain, for some of the cutest little backpacks ever! Gone are the days when backpacks were carried only to school and were bulky and ugly little things that did not look flattering on with any outfit. Backpacks are now smaller and sooo cute! You can pair them with dresses, jeans and just about anything in between, for a casual-chic look.

One other big 90s fashion trend comeback that no one saw coming is the return of the fanny pack! Fanny packs are no longer ugly accessories that are carried only by dads. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Rihanna have redefined the fanny pack phenomenon and transformed it into a current fashion must have! In fact, Indian designer Masaba Gupta even showcased fanny packs that can be worn with lehengas!

Here are some of our favourite backpack and fanny pack moments of the year.

If you are worried about staying two-steps behind the fashion game, you don’t have to panic and throw out your entire wardrobe, because chances are, these things are going to come back in fashion pretty soon, just like these fashion trends from the 90s are making a comeback and how!

You can keep rocking your cold-shoulder tops and unibrows without feeling anxious or rebellious because nothing really goes out of style does it?
