1. Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad

This one not just any other princess moment, my friends. This is a sexy princess trice! Though Channing makes me drool every single time, I got to ask him if he still thinks he is the sexiest in his family! I wish I could borrow this gown for my prom!

2. Kyemah Mcentyre in Kyemah Mcentyre

Donning her own creation, Kyemah Mcentyre grabbed eyeballs at this year’s Marriott Awards. Mcentyre went viral when she designed her our rom dress, and now it seems she isn’t leaving the spotlight anytime soon. This gown, in case you were not aware, is made of Mcentyre’s hand-painted canvas of African-American women who have inspired her. This 19-year-old speaks fervently about the need to question and alter how people define beauty. She says,

“I remember asking myself, ‘Why don’t I see these women?’ And I remember comparing myself to the women that I did see and I was like, ‘Well, why aren’t I beautiful? Why isn’t my kinky hair beautiful? Why aren’t my full lips beautiful?’ I think from that point on, that whatever I did, it was going to be me and not for anyone else. And then I mean, the artist in me, the rebellious youth in me also pushed it but ultimately, I think it came from me questioning, ‘Why aren’t I beautiful? Why can’t I be seen as beautiful?’”

3. Claire Danes in Zac Posen

At this year’s Met Gala, the theme of combining machine work with hand-made creations put the designers through an interesting experiment. Zac Posen’s immaculate that he created for Claire Danes is twinkly and ethereal, and so, had to make it to this list of the top 10 red carpet looks of 2016.

4. Nicki Minaj in Bao Tranchi

Yes, it is a sheer dress, and a head-smacking one at that, but dude, look at it for the other reasons! No, not the visible pelvic bone. I know it is difficult to take your attention away from that bone and focus on other things. I can hear you screaming at me for picking up a red carpet gown that is the anti-thesis of everything I have ever adored, but but but, Nicki looks stunning in this in spite of all the flaws and in spite of herself!

5. Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein

Remember that little girl who ruined Atonement for us? Well, she is all grown up now, and she seems to be not leaving any stone unturned when it comes to reminding us just that! When you own a chic, shimmery Calvin Klein gown and you wear it to the Academy Awards, you can think of your adulthood well anointed!

6. Lupita Nyong’o in Elie Saab

No matter what she wears, Lupita Nyong’o looks perfect! The patterns and sequins, the high buns, the head wraps, she made it so difficult for us to pick just one outfit from all that she has worn this year! We hope you make it more difficult for us in 2017, Lupita!

7. Sophie Turner in Carolina Herrera

In this Carolina Herrera gown and shoes and clutch from Jimmy Choo, Turner looked like she was dressed for the Gods! Massie Williams was a strong contender for this spot, but it seems like Sansa wasn’t so gentle this time!

8. Kristen Bell in Zuhair Murad

Kristen Bell stole the show with this Zuhair Murad creation! Bell had once said,

“I’m not a risk taker. I don’t do plunging necklines or really short skirts. I try to stay as classy as possible and provide a little mystery.”

Well, she did take some risks with outfit, but to her advantage, of course!

9. Naomie Harris in Burberry

I love the luxe patterns of this Burberry gown. I think it is one of the loveliest designs we saw on the red carpet this year. I guess if Harris would have experimented a little with the hair-look, we would have placed her high up on this list, but never mind! Let us talk some more about the pattern on the dress. Doesn’t it remind you of tapestries on the walls of Victorian Kings? I think it is splendid, to say the least!

10. Selena Gomez in  Calvn Klein

Isn’t this one a fashionista?! Selena Gomez shone in this cobalt number by Calvin Klein. With such a chic sense of style, no wonder she is the most followed celeb on Instagram!

The ladies seem to have embraced their feminine side on the red carpets, this year. They also experimented with colors, patterns and designs. These 10 beauties brought their A-game for different award nights, and it was great celebrating their sense of panache! But for the rest who missed the mark, there is always a next time! J

That’s a wrap from us? Did we miss out your favorite celebs? If yes, let us know about them, and why you think they should be on this list. You know where to find the comment section! :)

I'd type a little faster.” This Isaac Asimov line, embraces my love for writing in the finest and most desperate way that it is and should be! I was tormented by the earnestness of the written word not very early in my journey. But once smitten, it has helped me devour life twice over; savoring the moment and indulging in its memories. As a flâneuse, I wander to understand the intricacies of human relationships. Realizing that, they are just different manifestations of the same feeling of love, has been my greatest learning. I seek to share its opulence through the words I type.
