Each year we have different nail trends going viral and finding their ways into the nails of women. We are offered a variety each season; like this spring we were high on the sheer nude, while fall stretched the gamut to include dark and moody and upbeat and cheeky! Going nail-nude, with colours like beige, milk white, pale peach, soft pink or other colours that left a natural look, was a frenzy!

This season women painted their ‘nails’ red! Bordeaux tones were the hottest gossip in town. A little birdy tells me that next year will be more about the muted tones of red! Hush! 😉

This combination dominated the fashion scene this year. It was not only found on nails but also on clothes, accessories and even footwear. It is elegant yet vibrant. We saw an array of patterns and prints that used these two hues, the most popular being the French manicure.

For those who felt that glittery nails were too over-the-top and not their thing, metallic was offered. This trend though shiny is suitable for an everyday look. And also effortlessly make your nails look appealing.

This style of matching hues was a rage in 2015. In the place of choosing one nail polish colour separately, people were matching it with the tone of their clothes, accessories and the shade of their lipsticks.

Stripes are not just reduced to fabrics and the add-ons we carry. This year they were extended to nail designs and didn’t they rule, boy! Apart from making your hands look a class apart, they also created an illusion of longer nails, when striped in the vertical direction. The most popular combinations were red and black, black and golden, and Bordeaux and pale blue.

9. Moon-ish nails

Designers presented moon-ish nails as one that will go on to be ‘the’ thing, and weren’t they right! It was the season’s winner. The assortment that it comes with is fabulous to say the least. Black and Bordeaux, definitely reigned.

We saw a host of new wacky and zany ideas expressing themselves on nails. Painting all the fingertips or newspaper painting, creating new patterns and prints… everyone was Picasso-ing their nails! 😀 Ombre was one such creativity that made its debut this year.

So a lot of first timers went on to lead the nail fashion scene in 2015. In 2016, they say that the Chinese nail-art trend is going to blow us away. This will begin a new generation of awesomesauce(!) and will transcend the current average manicure. Prepare to ‘awaken the force within!’ 😉
